Manuel Jacobs is involved on the periphery of the drug trade in the Cape Flats in Cape Town. His father, a former gang member, was paralysed after a gang shooting.

Manuel is faced with many choices. He has promised his father that he will stay clear of the drug trade. This is but one of many promises (and threats) made. Manuel meets the Khan family who are the opposite of his family.
